Latham Pool Products Aids I2m In Providing Ppe To Front-Line Medical Workers
Latham to help manufacture 25,000 polymer film gowns that will be worn by doctors and nurses
ALBANY, NY, May 20, 2020 — Latham Pool Products Inc., the world’s largest manufacturer of inground residential swimming pools and accessories, is excited to give back to the community in a collaborative effort to produce personal protective equipment (PPE) for front-line healthcare workers.
Latham has partnered with polymer film manufacturer i2M to assist in making reusable gowns for community hospitals battling the current global health crisis. Through their collaborative effort, Latham and i2M plan to produce and distribute 25,000 gowns, which will outfit doctors and nurses on the front lines of the battle against COVID-19.
“The global health situation has impacted all of us in both our personal and professional lives,” said Scott Rajeski, Latham CEO. “At Latham, we realized that we had the tools and capability to quickly ramp up to help relief efforts. We are honored to help support those working on the front lines to save lives every day.”

After manufacturing the flexible polymer film material for the gowns in its Pennsylvania manufacturing plant, i2M shipped it to Latham to construct the gowns, which are long-sleeve, made of waterproof material, and generously sized for full coverage and flexibility. After an initial donation of 1,000 gowns to Geisinger Health Systems, i2M set a goal of manufacturing and distributing 10,000 additional gowns, which quickly grew to Latham’s production of a 25,000-gown order.
